30.05.2012: Chris Bonington carries the relay torch up Snowdon

A huge crowd gathered to see mountaineer and LEPRA president Sir Chris Bonington carry the Olympic torch up Snowdon on day 11 of its journey for London 2012.

Chris began his climbing career on Snowdon more than 60 years ago. He told gathered spectators that being part of the event “means an awful lot”.

The crowd cheered Sir Chris as he reached the top of Wales’ highest mountain.

Lovely to see our president reach such a milestone in his career -- in the same week as our Patron Her Majesty The Queen reaches her Diamond Jubilee!
