Combating tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS in Mozambique
In 2003, 54% of Mozambique’s population was living below the poverty line. The HIV/AIDS epidemic is expanding, life expectancy was estimated at 45 years in 2003 and it is expected to drop to 38 years in 2010. LEPRA Health in Action supports the national TB programme and works to prevent the spread of HIV.
