Fish cultivation to combat malaria in India

Villages are encouraged to cultivate Gambusia fish. This type of fish feeds on mosquito larvae and this reduces the chances of malaria. As part of malaria prevention activities, LEPRA trains communities to drain stagnant waters. Yet not all ponds can be drained and this is when Gambusia fish come in.

Please donate now to support this work. We rely on the help of people like you to make sure we can continue with our important programmes here and around the world.
