Great North Swim Windermere
The British Great North swim 2012 is part of a nationwide four race series, this 3 day event attracts over 10,000 competitors of varying ages and abilities to take part in the one mile open water distance.
22nd -- 24th June 2012 Windermere, Cumbria
The event is open to swimmers of all abilities from those who have only ever swum for fun in the pool through to Olympic champions. Elite swimmers will head the race, with celebrities, club swimmers and fun swimmers following in their waves.
The Great North Swim is part of a new series of one mile mass participation televised events taking place throughout the UK. In 2008 this event was Britain’s biggest open water mass participation swim.
