Income generation for people with lymphatic filariasis
People affected by lymphatic filariasis often find themselves unable to work, due to their disability and the discrimination they face from society. Many people who are disabled by lymphatic filariasis are also the main breadwinner in poor rural households. Their disability prevents them from being able to provide for themselves and their families.
LEPRA provides small loans to people with deformities caused by lymphatic filariasis allowing them to set up income generation activities to help pull them out of poverty.
