Leprosy eye care

Because leprosy affects facial nerves it can prevent a person’s ability to blink leading to infections and blindness. LEPRA provides special photochromic glasses that give extra protection for people affected by leprosy and prevent blindness. LEPRA has also carried out eye surgeries to restore eye nerve damage.
