Fighting diseases of poverty

Post-leprosy rehabilitation in Colombia

Practical vocational workshops are provided for the poorest leprosy-affected people in Agua de Dios as part of socio economic rehabilitation activities. Jewellery-making has been identified as a profitable business in the area. The courses also serve to increase the confidence and self-esteem of people affected by leprosy.

Local arts schools have been supported by promoting the art works produced by people affected by leprosy. Their paintings, sculptures and other works of art are exhibited to the general public to reduce stigma and increase self-esteem of people affected by leprosy and their families.

Please donate now to support this work. We rely on the help of people like you to make sure we can continue with our important programmes here and around the world.
